Matthew Connor returned in goal and he produced three fine saves during the opening 45 minutes.

David Cawley headed the only goal of the contest on 63 minutes. Kenny Browne returned to the starting eleven after missing the previous two games but he picked up another injury after 14 minutes and he had to be replaced.   Shane Griffin was the player filled the gap left by Browne.

The Blues will now have to park this result and concentrate on two more vital league games.   On Friday they play Shamrock Rovers at The Tallaght Stadium and on Monday next they head to the Carlisle Grounds to play Bray Wanderers.
