Huge blow to Deise Hurlers as injuries rule a number of players out for the Championship.

 

The injuries sustained by Waterford Senior Hurlers Tadhg De Burca , Darragh Fives and Barry Coughlan in Sundays's game
against Clare have ruled them out for the remainder of the Championship.

It's a massive blow to the Deise who were already dealing with injuries to Austin Gleeson and Paraic Mahony.

Tadhg De Burca suffered a broken collarbone and will be out for a number of months

Barry Coughlan broke his hand in three places and will also need months to recover from that injury.

Darragh Fives calf injury will rule him out for up to eight weeks.

Noel Connors received an injury to his back and he is still being assessed.

Maurice Shanahan suffered a groin injury.

In a statement Waterford GAA says the Team Management and the medical team are currently assessing the situation
regarding Noel Connors who had to leave the field at half time with a back injury and Maurice
Shanahan who had to remain on the field although suffering with a groin issue along with the
serious injuries acquired to Austin Gleeson and Pauric Mahony.

They also confirmed that Kevin Moran will not be requesting a hearing on his
proposed one match suspension.
