Waterford hurlers aim to get season back on track as Derek McGrath's charges tackle Tipperary in the Gaelic Grounds this afternoon

Waterford hurlers are back on the road this afternoon as they tackle Tipperary in the Munster Senior hurling Championship in Limerick.

Derek McGrath's charges were hit with an injury crisis in last weekend's opening round defeat to Clare in Ennis and will be up against a much fancied Tipperary side after their morale boosting draw with Cork last weekend.

Déise management have to plan without injury victims Barry Coughlan, Tadhg De Burca, Darragh Fives and Maurice Shanahan while captain Kevin Moran is suspended meaning there's seven changes with Austin Gleeson, Michael Kearney, Stephen Roche, DJ Foran, Stephen Bennett, Patrick Curran & Pauric Mahony all getting the nod.

John O'Dwyer replaces Patrick Maher on the Tipperary line-up.

Déise selector Dan Shanahan says they must deal with the set backs.

WLR analyst Stephen Frampton says it's great to see the younger players getting an opportunity.

Stephen says it's a massive boost to have Austin Gleeson and Pauric Mahony returning to action.

The Déise Minor hurlers get the day's action underway at the Gaelic Grounds this afternoon when they face a Tipperary outfit who netted four goals in an impressive win over Cork last weekend.

Waterford played well in patches in their opener but ultimately came up short against Clare last Sunday.

The Déise team shows two changes as Oisín O Ceallaigh and Tristan Loftus step in for Oisin O'Gorman and Aidan Organ.

Waterford boss Gary Morahan says they're not too worried about playing all their game away from home.

Throw's-in at 2pm, Tomás McCarthy will have updates across the afternoon here on WLR.
