Group stages of County Senior hurling Championship completed after last night's action

Ballygunner, De La Salle, Passage and Abbeyside are through to the quarter finals of the county senior hurling championship.

There was late drama in Walsh Park last night as Eddie Lynch saved an injury time penalty from Billy Nolan to give Passage a 1-11 to 0-13 win over Roanmore. Sean Treacy grabbed the crucial second half goal.

Mark Ferncombe netted twice in Abbeyside's comprehensive 5-17 to 1-9 victory against An Rinn at Bushy Park. Neil Montgomery, Conor Prunty and Tiernan Murray also raised green flags for Peter Queally's charges.

Goals from Evan McGrath, Jack Meaney, Stephen Roche and Martin F O'Neill earned Mount Sion their second win of the campaign against Lismore (4-17 to 2-15).

Sion boss John Meaney feels that they are moving in the right direction.

John told WLR Sport he was pleased with his sides response to Lismore's goals.

John also praised the younger players, particularly last year's Minors on his side who stepped up to the mark.

The four seeded teams in the play-offs are as follows: Dungarvan, Mount Sion, Roanmore and Tallow.

A draw will take place (no date fro the draw as of yet) to determine the play-off games bewteen the above seeded teams and the following: Ballyduff Upper, An Rinn, Fourmilewater and Lismore.
