Clashmore / Kinsalebeg and Dungarvan seeking spot in Quarter-Finals of Co. Senior Football Championship

The business end of the County Senior football Championship begins this evening with an all-Western tie in Fraher Field.

Dungarvan and Clashmore/Kinsalebeg will get the Quarter-Final play-offs up and running.

It will be the first meeting of the clubs for almost 20 years.

Clashmore picked up two wins in their group overcoming Ballinacourty and Brickey Rangers, Dungarvan recorded one win against Ardmore and put it up to County champions, Stradbally last time out.

Derek Lyons the Old Borough manager says it's a double edged sword game for his team.

Clashmore / Kinsalebeg selector Padraig Connery says they're looking forward to the game.

Padraig told WLR Sport they won't be taking Dungarvan for granted.

The action is underway at 8:15pm. The game is preceded the opening Co. Junior 'B' Football Championship Semi-Final where defending champions, The Nire take on old rivals Stradbally at 6:45pm.

Also this evening, the opening semi-final in the Western Junior 'A' Football Championship goes ahead as Old Parish and Kilgobinet meet in Bushy Park for a 7:30pm start.

Both Gaultier's Junior and Senior football matches scheduled for this weekend have been postponed due to the tragic death in Dunmore East.
