25-year-old Jack Power laid to rest in County Waterford

Hundreds gathered at Carbally Church in County Waterford earlier today to pay their respects to 25-year-old Jack Power.

The fisherman, a native of Brownstown in Dunmore East, died following a stabbing incident in the village on Thursday morning.

Mourners heard that Jack was a loyal, supportive and carefree man who's laugh was snatched away like a thief in the night.

Jack's brothers Ben and Lee paid tribute to their "great big brother" who they described as a role model.

His mother Loretta said his death leaves a huge void in the family and remembered his as someone who lived life to the full when they came in from sea.

Jack was laid to rest in Carbally New Cemetery following this afternoon's requiem mass.
