Kilrossanty back in County Senior Football Championship Quarter-Final

Kilrossanty booked their place in the Quarter-Final stages of the Co. Senior Football Championship by virtue of a comfortable win over Brickey Rangers in Fraher Field last night.

The sides were level, 0-2 apiece after ten minutes before the Comeragh side began to assert their dominance on the game despite losing their midfielders, Martin Dunne and Tommy Prendergast through injury.

A brace of goals from the impressive Joey Veale and another green flag from Pa Cunningham gave Emmett Doherty's charges a 3-8 to 0-5 lead at the break.

James Whyte netted a fourth goal for the winners, with Josh Kay, Donie Fitzgerald and Alan Quinn all working the scoreboard.

It finished Kilrossanty 4-14 Brickey Rangers 1-8.

Kilrossanty selector Pierce Connell was pleased with the win.

Pierce says they would have liked a stiffer test going into the Quarter-Final stages.
