Second Chance Maths Exam open for applications at WIT

Second Chance Maths Exam open for applications at WIT

Leaving cert students who are hoping to study at Waterford Institute of Technology this year will have a chance to repeat their maths paper.

1 in 10 students doing ordinary level maths failed the exam this year.

Applications are now being taken for the Maths Entry Exam which will go ahead on the 24th of August.

It's not open to students hoping to study nursing or Electronic Engineering and students must have already achieved the cut-off points for their programme of choice.

The exam will be available to candidates who have already applied for a course in WIT.

The exam does not provide additional points so intending applicants must have already achieved the cut-off points for their programme of choice.

The standard of the maths paper will be equivalent to the Leaving Certificate Ordinary Level paper one and paper two. Costing €35 (payable online), the exam will take place on Friday, 24 August at the Cork Road Campus at WIT.

The exam is not applicable to students seeking places on WIT’s nursing programmes due to restricted availability of places or for the BEng (Hons) in Electronic Engineering because of minimum professional qualifications.
