The opening Quarter-Final in the County Senior hurling Championship takes place this evening in Fraher Field.
It’s an all-Western affair as Abbeyside and Tallow seek a place in the last four.
The Villagers automatically qualified for the Quarters by virtue of a big win over An Rinn in their final group game, while Tallow have had the benefit of a recent play-off game where they edged out Ballyduff Upper after extra-time in a thrilling encounter.
Abbeyside are under the stewardship of former Déise hurler Peter Queally who says it’s a huge game for both clubs.
Peter says there’s never much to choose between the sides.
Tallow trainer is Kilkenny native, Joe Delaney who says their hard fought win over Ballyduff two weeks ago was huge.
Speaking to WLR Sport, Joe says it’s a game both sides will target.
The action is underway at 7:00 pm.
Meanwhile, Lismore and Fourmilewater remain in the senior hurling ranks after both clubs recorded victories in Fraher Field last night.
