Waterford SF TD says party is considering no confidence vote in Housing Minster

Waterford SF TD says party is considering no confidence vote in Housing Minster

The party has threatened it before without following through. But with the number of homeless people in Ireland on the verge of officially exceeding 10,000, calls for the resignation of Eoghan Murphy as Minister for Housing have increased.

In July 9,891 people accessed emergency accommodation - 19 more than in June.

The figure includes 6,024 adults and 3,867 children.

Waterford Deputy David Cullinane says Sinn Féin are still considering a no confidence vote:

"I want the entire Government gone. This isn't about any individual minster because we've had that before. We can change minster and have some different Fine Gael minster come in and it's not going to make any difference. I don't have confidence in a whole range of ministers in this Government and what I want to see is the end of this Government."

"You have to keep in mind as well is that Fianna Fáil is keeping this government afloat. FF have said they won't support any motions of no confidence," he added.
