Sitting President Michael D. Higgins was in Waterford this afternoon

Michael D. Higgins took part in a whistle-stop tour of the South East earlier this afternoon.

He addressed supporters in the Parlour Vintage Tea Rooms where he said that he would be making equality and participation key tenants of his candidacy.

The incumbent President was in Wexford earlier this morning on his tour of the region, and will visit Carlow this evening.
