Gardaí in Tramore are appealing to businesses in the town to get involved with a new ‘Business Watch’ scheme.
‘Business Watch’ provides a framework whereby the business community can join together and be instrumental in preventing crime in their own community.
Tramore Sergeant Mark Mills says the scheme is open to a variety of businesses across retail and hospitality.
“Essentially it’s a crime prevention initiative where we share information and utilise best practice surrounding that,” he says. “For example if we had dud fifty euro notes in circulation, we could disseminate that information using a text alert.”
Businesses looking to get involved can contact Sgt. Mills at Tramore Garda Station on 051 391 620.
