De La Salle are Eastern Under 21 A hurling champions for the fourth year in a row after coming from seven points down to beat Ballygunner 1-16 to 1-14 at Walsh Park this afternoon.
Brian Phelan’s men hit the last six points of the contest to bring home the Liam O’Donnell trophy.
Gavin Coppinger put them in front for the first time on 59 minutes before Cormac McCann sealed victory in injury time. Man of the match Mikey Costigan landed three second half points.
Salle will face Abbeyside in the county final next weekend.
Captain Eddie Meaney said that they dug deep in the second half to turn the game around.
He was delighted to keep the Liam O’Donnell cup in De La Salle.
He is hoping to finish the year on a high after losing the senior semi final to the Villagers.
