Bus Eireanns new service which includes a fleet of 17 disability friendly buses is to be launched in Waterford City in the coming weeks.
The service will see expanded routes and increased frequency of buses.
Fianna Fail Councillor Jason Murphy says bus shelters need to be upgraded as well.
Bus Éireann's Operations Manager Mick Faherty agreed but says it's not up to them but the service providers.

He says they along with the Councillors will lobby them.
Sinn Fein Councillor John Hearne wanted to know if there was a stronger bus shelter available to withstand anti social behaviour.
Mick Faherty says that will be something they can put to providers JC Decaux. He says Bus Eireann do clean them but they need
maintenance with lighting etc.
