Christmas swims to take place along Waterford coastline

Hundreds of people across Waterford will be braving the cold and taking the plunge next week for the annual Christmas Day swims.

Ardmore

22nd annual Ardmore Christmas Day Swim takes place from Ardmore beach at 12:15pm.
It's a splash & dash. The organisers say that high tide is a 7:05am which means participants will have a bit of run however they add that that only makes it more fun.

Dungarvan Lions Christmas Day Swim will be held at Clonea Beach at 12 noon.
Sponsorship money can be brought along on the day.
All proceeds will go to Dungarvan Lions Charities.

Stradbally

Stradbally AFC are organising the annual swim in Stradbally Cove. It gets underway at 12 noon and is in aid of the Irish Wheelchair Association.

Kilmurrin Cove

This year's Michael Power Christmas Day Memorial Swim is in aid of The Copper Coast Scout Group. The troop is fundraising for their scout lodge in Ballyscanlon.
The big event kicks off from Kilmurrin at 12 noon.

Guillamine, Tramore

The Newtown & Guillamine Swimming Club's annual Christmas Day swim takes place at 11:00am.
It's in aid of the Waterford Viking Halliwick Swim Club

Tramore

As part of the WLR Christmas Appeal, the annual Christmas Day Swim in Tramore will take place on Tramore Beach at 11:00am. Join WLR and the throngs of swimmers who’ll brave the elements on Christmas morning to take a dip in the sea and raise vital funds for the Saint Vincent de Paul.
A bucket collection will take place on the day as part of the WLR Christmas Appeal, so we're asking you to Be A Little Star and dig deep to give what you can to support the local Saint Vincent de Paul.

Dunmore East

The Dunmore East Christmas day swim will take place at 12 noon at The Strand.
It's in aid of the 2nd Port Dunmore East Sea Scouts.

ST STEPHENS DAY

Ballymacaw

The annual Ballymacaw fundraising swim willl take place on St. Stephen's Day at 12 noon sharp. This year's swim is in aid of Waterford Hospice.
