Waterford firefighters rescue dog from reservoir

Waterford Fire Service were called to an unusual incident in Waterford City yesterday - a dog stuck in a reservoir.

Firefighters wearing swift water rescue gear entered the reservoir and brought the dog to safety.

In a post on Facebook the fire service said the owner did the correct thing in calling them out saying that they have the correct training and gear to carry out these rescues.

They added that after a warm wash and some treats both the dog and the rescuers would be fine.
