A suspected petrol bomb was thrown into a house in the Kilmeaden area in County Waterford last night.
Gardaí in Tramore say they are trying to ascertain what exactly was put through the window of the house in the Knockaderry area at 8.25pm.
The occupants of the house were there at the time, but there were no injuries.
A small amount of damage was caused to the house.
In a separate incident a burnt out car was found in Butlerstown last night.
Gardaí do not know at this stage if the two are connected and are appealing to any witnesses in both areas between 8 and 9pm last night to contact them on 051-391620.
