Minister says application for University for the South East will be submitted soon.

Waterford Minister of State John Halligan says the government has done all it can in the creation of a university for the South East.

He said preparations for a technological university were at an advanced stage, and it was now up to Waterford and Carlow ITs to get it over the line.

He says the government have not been found wanting on this having already invested about 19 million euro in the advancement of technological universities in Ireland
with one point seven million in the South East.

He believes a comprehensive plan will be put to Government within the coming months.
