Daithí Harrison and Paddy Flynn, who are undertaking their "Of Mountains and Men" charity cycle/run from August 4th.

Paddy Flynn from Waterford and Daithí Harrison from Tipp are two school friends who've been living in Sydney for the past number of years. On August 4th, they'll start their journey which will take them across 28 countries and three continents to raise vital funds for two charities – CMRF Crumlin and the Sydney Children’s Hospitals Foundation.  The lads will be essentially cycling home, but they've given themselves the added (rather massive) challenge of doing an ultra-marathon in each country as well. You can follow the lads' journey here.

The Benefiting charities

Daithí and Paddy are raising vital funds for CMRF Crumlin, the charity for Crumlin hospital and the NCRC (National Children’s Research Centre). 150,000 children walk through the doors of Crumlin hospital every year. One in 100 children in Ireland are born with a structural heart defect. 211 children are diagnosed with cancer every year in Ireland. All of them are treated at Crumlin Hospital. The NCRC is funding 43 research grants into paediatric conditions and illnesses including cardiology, immunology, infection, cancer and neonatology.

The lads are also raising money for the Sydney Children’s Hospitals Foundation because they believe they do wonderful work for sick children in Ireland and Australia, which will make their epic journey from Sydney to home all the more meaningful.
