Giving Grid
THE GIVING GRID
100% of the proceeds raised through the WLR Christmas Appeal goes directly to the Saint Vincent de Paul in Waterford to support the society’s ongoing services across our City and County.
With your help, through The Giving Grid and a variety of events and initiatives, we aim to raise in excess of €80,000 for the SVP in Waterford - €20,000+ through the Giving Grid!
Every time you choose a square and make a donation, you have a 1 in 10 chance of winning a prize worth circa the value of your donation; including flights from Cork Airport, 5 star hotel breaks, restaurant vouchers, fashion vouchers, luxury homewares and festive stocking fillers. (Scroll down past the grid to see the full list of prizes and the sections on the grid they're allocated to.)
Also, every business/company that buys a square on the grid, goes into a draw to win an advertising campaign with the Waterford News & Star AND a week's worth of radio ads on WLR, worth over €500!
To buy a square and make a donation, simply click on the square you'd like to buy and choose the corresponding value from the list behind the grid. Fill in your details as prompted and you'll own that square on the Giving Grid. You can even have your photo or company logo published in that square!
Once the grid is full, it will be printed in an upcoming edition of the Waterford News & Star, as well as here on WLRFM.com and ChristmasAppeal.ie.
The money you donate to the WLR Christmas Appeal go directly to the SVP in Waterford so they can continue to provide the services that help people to have a better life. The serviced provided not only include financial assistance for food, bills, rent, fuel and electricity where necessary, but also, towards the services that support people in making a better life for themselves and their families. These services including providing childcare so parents can get back to work without the burden of crippling childcare costs, and assistance with funding for school and college. We want to help the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul break the poverty cycle in Waterford long term.
