Red Hat’s site in Waterford was established in 2014 after the acquisition of FeedHenry - a mobile and cloud technology startup company founded at SETU.

Speaking on the jobs boost, James Mernin, Director of Engineering and Site lead for Red Hat in Waterford said,"We’re delighted to be able to create new opportunities to work at the cutting edge of technology, from AI to cybersecurity to hybrid cloud, right here in Waterford, contributing to the city’s status as one of Ireland’s best places to live and work. Today’s announcement is a result of the ultimate team effort, and I could not be prouder of everyone who contributed to it - a group that spans beyond Waterford.

"As a Waterford native, I am incredibly proud of what the Red Hat team has achieved together here in a relatively short space of time and this new collaboration with IBM and IDA Ireland will help us continue to provide a wealth of opportunities for attracting and developing skilled talent here."
