Do you know what's contained in the 'small print' of your insurance documents?!
Today (Monday), householders are being urged to check what is covered in home insurance policies in particular, after it emerged a leading insurer is restricting what it will compensate policyholders for in the event of a claim.
Axa Insurance, which also provides policies sold through Supervalu and AIB, is limiting claims for some forms of accidental damage to homes.
For example, the company says it will no longer cover loss or damage to underground pipes, listing 10 exclusions.
These include damage "as a result of tree root action" and "by wear or tear or anything which happens gradually".
