Noel King has informed Dundalk FC that he will be stepping down as first-team manager with immediate effect due to medical reasons.
His last game in charge was against Waterford FC on Friday last - with the Blues winning out 4-1 at the RSC.
It is just 25 days since King was first appointed.
In a statement, Dundalk FC said: "We would like to thank Noel for his time with the club and we wish him and his family all the best in the future. Liam Burns will take charge of the team for the match with Shamrock Rovers on Friday night."
"The process of recruiting a new manager will begin immediately. The club will not be making any further comment at this time."
