"These players are the future of our senior team" James O'Connor on Déise minors

"These players are the future of our senior team" James O'Connor on Déise minors

The Waterford minor hurlers seek their first win of the Munster championship this evening.

After defeats to Clare and Tipperary, the Déise welcome Cork to Fraher Field for a 7 o'clock throw in. The top four teams in Munster will advance to the All Ireland series.

Manager James O'Connor wants to see a big home support. "It's a must. I'd urge every single real Waterford supporter to come out and support these lads. These players are the future of our senior team in five or six years' time. We need to get behind them and show them what it's like."

The Dungarvan crowd got behind the team during their second half fightback against Tipperary two weeks ago. "I could hear people roaring and the hairs stood up on the back of my neck. I'm sure it was giving these lads more energy out on the field; we need more of that."

O'Connor has made two changes to the team as Conor Power and Caoillin Reville get their first starts of the season.
