Transition year students at three Waterford secondary schools are raising funds for the WLR Christmas Appeal in aid of the St Vincent de Paul by taking part in '1000km In A Day'.
The event was created to highlight the one thousand calls for help received by the SVP daily, and moneys raised will help individuals and families across the city and county by providing breakfast clubs in our schools, food hampers and vouchers, fuel, heating, electricity and help with educational costs.
Representatives from the Presentation secondary school, Mercy secondary school and St Angela's School Ursuline Convent, Waterford spoke to Vinny and Aoibhin on the Big Breakfast Blaa about their amazing work and preparations for this event. Take a listen!
Don't forget - you can donate to the WLR Christmas Appeal by texting the word APPEAL to 50300, and check out the Christmas Appeal section of our website for all of the many events happening this year.
