Waterford Spraoi and Centre Culturel Irlandais have teamed up to offer an Irish street artist or performer the chance to work in Paris during 2022.
The partnership was announced this week by Director of the Centre Culturel Irlandais Nora Hickey M'Sichili and Director of Waterford Spraoi T.V. Honan. T.V said:
“The new residency is an example of Spraoi connecting Waterford and Irish artists with a wider world,”
An application process will open in the coming weeks, through which the successful artist will be offered a one-month residency at CCI in the heart of Paris next year. The offer includes flights, an allowance and accommodation in the centre itself.
About Centre Culturel Irlandais
The Centre Culturel Irlandais is Ireland's flagship cultural centre in Europe. Inaugurated in 2002, the Centre Culturel Irlandais is situated in the Collège des Irlandais, or Irish College, formerly home to a large collegiate community of Irish priests, seminarians and lay scholars whose origins stretch back to 1578.
Through the residencies and its diverse cultural programme, the Centre Culturel Irlandais showcases Ireland's dynamic contemporary culture on an international stage.
Applicants must be Irish citizens or normally resident on the island of Ireland, with professional involvement in creative practice.
The deadline for applications is at the beginning of January each year for residencies running from September of the same year to June of the following year.
Applicants will be notified of the outcome at the end of March.
