Vicky Phelan is a guest on Friday's Late Late Show
Vicky Phelan will join Ryan Tubridy on this Friday's The Late Late Show to talk about her decision to stop her chemotherapy treatment and look ahead to Christmas at home with her family.
The Mooncoin native, who previously worked at WIT, has been battling cancer for a number of years following a delayed diagnosis of cervical cancer. She has since campaigned vigorously for better treatment of women in the Irish health system.
Vicky, who has returned home from recent medical trials in the United States, recently shared a video update on her own social media, outlining that she could no longer put her body through chemotherapy:
I'm not going to put my body through that hell anymore. Christmas is around the corner and I do not want to be in bed at home or in hospital

Christy Moore will also feature on The Late Late

The legendary Christy Moore will also appear on The Late Late Show, on the day of the release of his new album Flying Into Mystery.  He'll speak to Ryan Tubridy fresh from winning his Life Time Achievement Award at the RTÉ Radio 1 Folk Awards earlier this week and will play an exclusive selection of songs from the new record.
Following the success of last year’s Toy Show Appeal, which raised €6.6m for Irish charities, Ryan will catch up with some of the over 600,000 people whose lives have been changed thanks to the generosity of Toy Show viewers.
In addition, comedian and impressionist, Waterford native Mario Rosenstock will bring a wide array of his trademark characters to The Late Late Show this Friday night.
