Waterford acts added to Electric Picnic lineup

Moncrieff and King Kong Company have been added to the final lineup of this year's Electric Picnic.

They were added among names like Becky Hill, The Coronas, and James Vincent McMorrow.

King Kong Company are a band consisting of five boys, one girl, and a box head.

In 2011, they started putting out one video a month. In 2012, they played their first gig, as well as playing Indiependence on the back of a truck.

Moncrieff is a Tramore native who left the Déise to pursue his music career in London.

He made the right choice as even Elton John gave him a shoutout on his radio show Rocket Hour.

Moncrieff describes his music as "real" and according to Her.ie, he even used it as a tool when he was grieving the loss of his brother.

Comedy acts added include the My Therapist Ghosted Me podcast, The 2 Johnnies, and Dylan Moran.

A total of 50 new acts were added to this year's lineup.

The festival is Ireland's largest gathering of music and arts and will run from September 2nd to 4th in Stradbally, Co. Laois.

It is the first time the festival has taken place in two years because of the pandemic.

Tickets for Electric Picnic are now sold out.
