250 jobs to be created in Waterford's Railway Square

250 new jobs are to be created in Waterford City by Infosys BPM.

The business process management company is setting up a state-of-the-art delivery centre in Railway Square in the city centre to provide voice support, customer service and technical support operations for several large global enterprises.

The new roles in Waterford will cover several functions across various job levels, from customer and technical support roles to senior level positions in finance, HR, planning, and capacity management.

About Infosys BPM

The company began its Ireland operations in Dublin in 2014, delivering service offerings across telecommunications, manufacturing, social media, healthcare, the edtech and fintech sectors. Since then, Infosys BPM, a New York Stock Exchange-listed company, has further expanded in Ireland and the United Kingdom.

Infosys already has a presence in Waterford, due to the acquisition of Waterford firm Eishtec, based at the Cleaboy Industrial Estate, in 2019.

Waterford Fine Gael Senator John Cummins has welcomed the decision:

"It is fantastic to see another IDA jobs announcement for Waterford on the back of recent announcements by Bausch and Lomb, Repligen, Horizon Therapeutics and Tegus. Today’s announcement brings to 660 the number of IDA backed jobs that have been created in the past five months."

He added that it's especially great that the company is setting up in Railway Square, in the heart of Waterford City, which he believes will create spin-off growth for the urban economy.

Tánaiste Leo Varadkar described the jobs announcement as "a great boost for the South East" adding that it demonstrates the attractiveness of Ireland as a location for investment from leading companies from around the world.

Anantha Radhakrishnan, MD and CEO of Infosys BPM, said:

“This investment builds on our long-standing commitment to developing a highly-skilled workforce in Ireland and our focus on achieving breakthrough innovation for our clients in a collaborative environment. Hiring the best of talent will not only offer a significant boost to the regional economy, but also substantially enhance growth opportunities for us."
