5 miles for MS to take place tomorrow

5 miles for MS, a five mile road race is taking place tomorow in aid of MS.

It has been organised by Sanofi and this is the 11th year that the event will be taking place.

Those who wish to take part will have the option of running or walking the five miles, with staggered start times for the two.

Runners will leave the Sanofi site at 11, while those walking will leave at 10:30.

Siobhán Kennedy is the Sanofi HR business partner, and she gave WLR News the details of the route.

It will begin at the Sanofi site on the Old Kilmeaden Road, then those participating will be turning left at the Butlerstown roundabout, travelling down past Harvey Normans then back up the hill to finish at the starting point.

To register, you can click here, or you can register on the day from 9:30.

Siobhán also told WLR where the idea for the run came from.

She said Sanofi being a pharmaceutical company, do treatment for MS, but the idea mostly came from the death of a colleagues father who had suffered with the disease.

"He had approached me to know would I help him start a run in aid of the local MS charity," Siobhán said.

Since then, Eileen Nolan, a local MS patient has started the run every year.
