Bolton Street and Waterside identified as locations for 170 affordable homes

A new report by the Land Development Agency has identified two potential sites in Waterford where affordable housing schemes could be built.

This follows the establishment of the agency in 2018 which was created with the aim of amassing and development State-owned property for housing.

Under 2021 law, the agency was also required to identify lands which are in public ownership already, which could be used for housing.

The report identified the carparks at Waterside and Bolton Street as suggested locations for a potential 170 homes between the two sites.

Additionally five regional areas have been explored in Drogheda, Dundalk, Athlone, Letterkenny, and Sligo.
