Speaking in Dublin Count Centre, she said, "It's a very disappointing day for the Green Party and my heart goes out to all of the candidates that we ran in every constituency and It's a tough day.
"This has happened before, but we will come back stronger than ever.".
Locally, Marc O'Cathasaigh is set to lose his seat in Waterford, while David Cullinane has just been elected.
