'It's like a dream' - Roscommon woman wins Dunmore East house for just €23

A seaside property in Dunmore East which was raffled this week has been won by a woman from Roscommon.

Cove Lodge, which was valued at €300,000, was raffled by through Rafall, with tickets costing just €23.

The draw attracted a lot of interest with almost 22,500 tickets sold for the property.

Leeann Keegan from Athleague in Co Roscommon purchased a single ticket in June, she told WLR she still can't believe her luck:

"I was at home and then I got a text on my phone and it was a lady saying 'congratulations you've won a house', and I said no I think you've got the wrong person, that's not me."

She it took some persuasion until the penny dropped!

Leeann, who works as an ambulance paramedic, said she bought a ticket for 23 euro in June when she heard an ad on the radio:

"We bought it and we talked about living there - 'imagine living down there by the beach' - and then we just forgot completely about it, I mean I thought the draw was over, I couldn't believe it until winthishouse contacted me. I still can't believe it."

Leeann says it's like a dream come true and will change her life. Although she has been to Waterford before, she's never been to Dunmore East. She is not yet sure what she will do with the house, but is looking forward to a glass of wine on the terrace!
