Man rescued from Ladies' Slip cliff area of Tramore

Tramore RNLI, Tramore Coast Guard and Rescue 117 rescued a man in difficulty near the ladies' slip cliff area of the town last night.

Pagers were activated at around 11.00 pm to respond to a fallen male and Tramore RNLI and Tramore Coast Guard Unit administered first aid.

The casualty was in a very difficult to reach area of the cliff base, and paramedics from the R117 winched in on the scene to further assess the casualty.

The man was subsequently taken to University Hospital Waterford for further assessment.

In a post on social media, Tramore Coast Guard is reminding people that if you see someone in difficulty on the water, shoreline or cliffs call 112/999 and ask for the Coast Guard.
