Having been missing for just about four months on the hop, Joey the Waterford wallaby has been found!

The young marsupial escaped from his relatively new home at Waterford Castle over the summer.

He had been spotted a number of times in the Faithlegg area recently but efforts to catch him were unsuccessful - until yesterday evening that is.

The Castle green-keepers and some locals managed to catch him near Faithlegg primary school and returned him safely to the island and to his mother.

Damien spoke with Mick Cleere and Tom Mullaly on the good news on Deise Today this morning.
