William Smith of City Vets in Waterford joined Damien on Deise Today for his fortnightly slot, where he gave his thoughts on recent comments by Pope Francis.

Among the latest topics was a recent talk given by The Pontiff, where he labelled people who choose to have cats and dogs instead of children as "selfish." More here.

William created a rather tongue in cheek list of pros and cons on having pets and / or children. Items on the list include "likely to vomit in the car" (applies to both), "easy to toilet train" (pets win this one according to William!), "loyal and obedient" (pets win this), and  "cute and cuddly" (both, says William).
