Dundalk win puts Waterford FC in relegation zone

Dundalk win puts Waterford FC in relegation zone
Waterford FC are back in the relegation zone in the SSE Airtricity League of Ireland Premier Division after last night’s results.
9th-placed Dundalk leapfrogged the Blues into 8th having beaten Bohemians 2-1 in their game in hand at Oriel Park.
Superb goals from Sam Stanton and Patrick Hoban were enough to cancel our former Blue Tyreke Wilson’s strike and hand the Lilywhites all three points.
Dundalk face Finn Harps on Friday night while Waterford are in action away to third placed Sligo Rovers on Saturday evening - with just seven match weeks remaining after that round of fixtures.
Waterford are 9th on the league table with 32 points, behind Dundalk who have 34 points and one ahead of Longford Town who have 14 points.

Munster Senior Cup

Meanwhile, Waterford FC will compete in the 2021/22 Munster Senior Cup.

They will join Treaty United in the competition, which is organised by the Munster Football Association.

The Blues will enter the tournament at the quarter-final stage in the New Year.

The last time Waterford competed in the tournament was in 2018 when they were beaten by Cork City in the semi-finals.
