"He has really been a mainstay"

Former Déise defender Brian Flannery believes that Waterford full back Conor Prunty deserves his first All Star award.

"Since Conor Prunty has come into the Waterford team, he was first introduced by Paraic Fanning, he has really been a mainstay," Flannery told WLR's Lár Na Páirce show. "When you look at the confidence Liam Cahill has in him, making him captain, it gives you an indication of how highly he is thought of not just by the management but his fellow players as well."

Flannery's All Star fifteen contains ten players from All Ireland champions Limerick, two from Cork and one each from Kilkenny, Waterford and Clare.
