St. Paul's FC will be honoured with a Mayoral Reception at 11 am today.
Metropolitan Mayor Jason Murphy will honour the club, who recently celebrated their 50th anniversary.
The community contributions of St. Paul's FC are being acknowledged with the reception and Cllr. Murphy says they are at the forefront of the community.
"St. Pauls were formed in 1970 and they had their 50th anniversary in the middle of Covid", he explained.
"That curtailed things somewhat, but then they had a very well-attended dinner dance in the aftermath of the pandemic to celebrate their 50 years at the heart of St. Paul's. I think everyone in the area would agree that the club is a very special soccer club. It serves a massive area of Larchville, Lisduggan, Belvedere and Lismore Park. It's the only soccer club north of the Cork Road and they play a huge role."
