Waterford bow out of Tailteann Cup
The season is over for the Waterford footballers who bowed out of the inaugural Tailteann Cup in Aughrim this afternoon following a 12 point defeat to Wicklow.

The home side were 0-8 to 0-5 in front at half-time with goalkeeper Mark Jackson nailing two long-range frees, he ended the game with 0-4.

Brian Lynch kicked two points from play for the visitors who had seven wides in the opening period.
Waterford reduced the deficit to 2 points early in the 2nd-half thanks to a Jason Curry point but the home side took over after that.
Kevin Quinn with a brace (one from the penalty spot) and Eoin Darcy netted goals as the hosts dominated the 2nd period.
Brian Looby got a late consolation goal for the visitors who kicked 13 wides.
