Waterford family lead Charity Walk for Temple Street

Waterford family lead Charity Walk for Temple Street

A very special 5k charity walk gets underway on the Greenway this morning.

The Jack Dwane Charity Fun Walk for Temple Street Children's Hospital begins at 11 am.

Six-year-old Jack from Dungarvan spent time in Temple Street Children's hospital over the summer.

He had Sagital Craniosynostosis which meant he needed surgery on his skull.

Jack is now on the road to a full recovery and his parents Nicky and Carole organised today's walk to raise much-needed funds for the Children's Health Foundation Temple Street.

The foundation supports sick children and their families in CHI hospitals and urgent care centres

Lots of people will know Jack from his appearance on this year's Late Late Toy show with his friends Ellie Mae and Waterford's Sive Lonergan.

All 3 became friends when they were in Temple Street receiving treatment.

The walk will begin at 11 am at The Railway Cottage out to Ballyvoile and back to the Railway cottage. All runners, walkers, families and children on bikes are encouraged to come along.

If you can't make today's walk you can also donate online through JustGiving
