Séamus (Seamie) Skehan, Cahernaleague, Ballinamult, Co. Waterford

Who passed away suddenly from a rare brain disease, CJD on 24th September 2025.

He will be deeply missed by his heartbroken family: his beloved wife Breda (née Moore), daughters Tara, Julie and Eithne, son Jack, sons-in-law Brendan, Derek and John, Jack’s partner Ella, and his cherished grandchildren Saoirse, Johnny, Kate, Éirinn, Caoimhe, Willie, Cailín, Seán and Seánie. Also mourning his loss are his brother John, sister Lois (Crotty), aswell as siblings in law, Pat, James and Linda, extended family, relatives, neighbours, and many friends.

Seamie passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family, and with the exceptional support of the Community Palliative Care Team, to whom we are eternally grateful.

Reposing at his home in Cahernaleague, Ballinamult, Co. Waterford (Eircode E91 WY13) on Saturday, 27th September from 3:00pm to 6:00pm, followed by family prayers at 7:30pm.

Seamie’s Funeral service will leave his home on Sunday, 28th September, for his final journey to St. Mary’s Church, Touraneena,

arriving for Requiem Mass at 2:00pm, followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.
