Wife of late Nigel Pim thanks hospital workers for their care and kindness

Waterford woman Jeni Pim has thanked the frontline and ICU workers at UHW who provided her late husband Nigel with such care, and treated her with such kindness, during his illness.

Nigel Pim (51) died in the hospital on Thursday last from Covid-19, after developing mild symptoms of the virus post Christmas.

Jeni Pim, her daughter Jordan and son Robert, spoke to Damien Tiernan on Deise Today to thank all of those who had provided such support and help to Nigel and to them in the past few weeks.

The family had a private funeral for Nigel on Saturday.

Jeni told Damien this morning it was absolutely heartbreaking to see someone she had loved so much become so ill with Covid-19. She said Nigel had been very careful to avoid contracting the virus and the family were still somewhat unclear as to how he had.

Jeni and the couple's two children also warned the public to please be careful in terms of containing the spread of the virus and to take all precautions to keep themselves and others safe.

She also thanked people for the flood of kind messages and support sent to the family in recent days.
