Two workers at Sanofi in Waterford have been injured following an accident at the life sciences firm.
What's being described as 'a chemical incident' occurred in a laboratory at approximately 11:20 this morning (Wednesday).
The emergency services were called and the injured employees were brought by ambulance to University Hospital Waterford where they are receiving treatment.
The Health & Safety Authority has been informed and an investigation will take place.
Sanofi, which acquired Genzyme in 2011, employs over 580 people in Waterford.
