Owner of Waterford Castle purchases land for development close to New Ross

The owner of Waterford Castle has purchased a stretch of land near New Ross for more than €2 million.

Multi-millionaire, Séamus Walsh lives in Australia but is originally from Mullinavat.

He and his son Finn have closed the deal on what is considered a very important 8.8 acres of development land along the south side of the River Barrow.

It's understood the land was purchased for more than €2.2 million.

Finn Walsh has said the 1 kilometre of land along the river is now just waiting to be transformed into an "economically viable venture in the not too distant future."
