The owner of land that was destroyed by a wildfire in the Comeragh mountains this week says it's a miracle nobody was hurt.

Around 80 acres of Bernard Cullinane's land around Crotty's Lake was engulfed in the blaze that broke out on Thursday afternoon.

Fire crews were there until the early hours of Friday morning working to put it out but it was still smoldering more than 24 hours later.

The area is very popular with walkers and campers and Bernard has big plans to expand the tourism offering there in the very near future.
