Ephie Fitzgerald appointed as Waterford football boss

Waterford county board have this evening confirmed that Ephie Fitzgerald will take the helm of the senior footballers on a two year deal.

The Nemo Rangers club man has previously served as the manager of the Cork minors, while also spending time with the Limerick and Clare seniors.

Fitzgerald has most recently served as the the manager of the Cork senior ladies, having taken the helm in 2016.

Waterford parted company with Shane Ronayne at the end of last month, with the Cork native taking up the then vacant job with Cork.

In what has transpired to be a straight swap, Fitzgerald now fills the void left by Ronayne.

The Waterford county board have confirmed that he will serve a two year term in charge of the team.
