Waterford FC announces Danny Searle as Head Coach

Danny Searle is the new Head Coach of Waterford FC, the club has confirmed.

The announcement comes 55 Days after Ian Morris was sacked.

Danny Searle will take over the coaching responsibilities at the club with immediate effect.

The Romford native was most recently in charge of National League side Aldershot Town and comes to Waterford having previously worked at West Ham and Charlton at youth level.

He has told Waterford FC.ie that he’s delighted to be here and can't wait to get out on the grass with the players.

Those players have been central to the recent fortunes of the side. Since the departure of Morris in April, the club has gone from strength to strength winning six games on the bounce, and climbing the league table to within 6 points of second-placed Galway.

The Blues have not played a game in some weeks since their 4-1 win over Treaty United at the RSC in late May.

Danny Searle's first time on the line of the Blues will be for the visit of Bray to the RSC on Friday the 24th - something that Chairman Mitch Cowling says he is very much looking forward to, as it provides the chance for a real push to get the team back to where it belongs.

Cowling added “I would like to thank Gary and David for stepping up and taking on more responsibility over the last six games working closely under Tobias and producing six wins out of six. The three of them have done a fantastic job and long may that continue with the help of Danny coming in."
