Waterford FC sack manager Ian Morris

Waterford FC have parted company with manager Ian Morris after just ten games in charge.

A slump in form has seen the Blues slide down to 5th in the table in the League of Ireland First Division - despite being many people's favourites to win the title.

Morris' reign began with three wins and a draw from the Blues opening four league matches - but they have picked up just four points since, losing twice to arch rivals Cork City - as well as falling to defeats at the hands of Treaty United and Galway United.

The Dubliner's last game in charge was a 2-1 defeat at home to Cork on Easter Monday, a result which leaves Waterford nine points off the pace at the top of the table.

The sacking means whoever is in charge for the Blues South-East derby away to Wexford will be the 7th manager at the RSC in just over two years.

WLR have contacted both Waterford FC and Ian Morris for comment.
