WLR has taken significant strides in addressing the issue of climate change through its various Climate Change and Sustainability programmes on-air on online. In 2022, WLR's Climate Change and Sustainability programmes were honoured with the IMRO Gold Award for Specialist Speech Programme of the year, and the station won an Audio Award in 2023 for a ‘Deise Today – Climate Change Special’. This recognition highlights our commitment to promoting environmental consciousness and sustainable practices in Waterford through impactful and innovative broadcasting.
